**Your new company**

A well-known state government department is recruiting an experienced Accounts Payable Officer.

**Your new role**
- Processing invoices for payments in accordance with internal controls and financial policies
- Ensure creditors are paid in a timely manner
- Entering travel cheques and travel request claims into the business system and offsetting them in the finance system once paid
- Preparing monthly accruals, maintaining and generating recurring and prepayment documents
- Monthly reconciliation and investigating discrepancies
- Investigate overpayment to suppliers
- Review corporate card documentation
- Safeguarding, distributing and managing petty cash for the CBD office
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
- Data entry / administrative tasks
- Assist with actioning invoices accurately and in a timely manner

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience and knowledge of financial procedures relating to Accounts Payable including expenditure, payment of accounts and maintenance of financial records
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Ability to plan ahead and effectively manage your time
- Ability to build and maintain relationships
- Technology One experience
- Previous government experience is highly regarded
