School Bus Driver

Giant Steps Tasmania is seeking a qualified and courteous Bus Driver to provide students and staff with safe, reliable transport to and from our Deloraine campus.

Giant Steps Tasmania is a not for profit, independent, registered school and therapeutic centre for children on the Autism Spectrum. It is the only specialised school for individuals with Autism in Tasmania.

Summary of Position
- Duties will be driving the morning and/or afternoon bus run and can be flexible depending on the successful applicant's availability. Approximately 2 hours in the morning (7:00-9:00) and/or 2 hours in the afternoon (3:00-5:00), up to 5 days a week during school terms.
- The students of Giant Steps Tasmania will be escorted by two trained staff members, so drivers will not be required to manage students.
- The position is for term time only and the successful applicant will be notified of required times in advance.
- Our fleet consists of one manual/auto 12 seat Renault Master Bus and two 21 seat auto Fuso Rosas.
- Bus Run starting point will be in Deloraine and then travelling to Launceston or Devonport, collecting students and back to Deloraine.

Essential Criteria
- A current full light rigid drivers license.
- A current Tasmanian Working With Vulnerable People card.
- A recent/current National Police Check.
- A clean driving record.
- The ability to represent our school in a professional manner.
- The ability to interact with our school community in a courteous, empathetic and professional manner.
- This position would be best suited to someone living in the local Deloraine area.
