**About this role**

The Dietary Services Porter supports the delivery of an efficient, timely and high quality food service to the Hospital by undertaking a range of duties with a focus on safe food storage, supplies and re-stocking. The position requires manual handling tasks to be performed. The primary purpose of the position is to:

- Monitor storage and food temperatures in cold store areas including completion of HACCP report forms
- Maintain cleanliness and restocking of cool-rooms
- Stock rotation, receiving orders and re-stock of food storage areas
- Coordinate pot washing, rubbish removal, crate and box storage

**Hours**
This is a casual position where applicants must be flexible and fully available to work 7 days per week including weekends and public holidays from 6am.

This role is a manual position that involves pot washing, cleaning and the receival of goods and packing away deliveries for the kitchen.

- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Calmness under pressure and the ability to work within tight timeframes
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, including basic food preparation and knowledge of food preparation standards
- A professional demeanour
- A commitment to maintaining safety and wellbeing of self and others in the workplace
- Knowledge of H.A.C.C.P. system

This role will suit applicants who are flexible and enjoy working as part of a dynamic team, thrive in a busy environment and have a real passion for delivering great customer service. Previous experience working in a similar role in a hospital or healthcare setting is desirable however is not essential. Please note, it is also mandatory requirement of employment that you are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
