**What you'll be doing**
As an Advanced Clinical Coder, you’ll bring your in-depth knowledge and experience to support clinical coding accuracy, data integrity, and continuous improvement in a tertiary hospital environment. You'll also play a key role in mentoring less experienced coders and supporting the district's coding quality initiatives.
- Accurately code complex inpatient episodes using ICD-10-AM and DRG principles
- Mentor junior coders and contribute to education and training programs
- Support coding audits and quality improvement aligned with WSLHD Coding Quality Plan
- Monitor coding throughput, DRG allocations, and meet KPIs for data quality

**How to Apply**
- Extensive clinical coding experience (in the current ICD-10-AM version) across a broad range of specialties in a tertiary setting, evidenced to meet the District’s set KPIs of accuracy & throughput.
- Demonstrated understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) and Activity Based Funding (ABF).
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills with high level attention to detail.
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks and effectively manage time and resources to meet pre-determined targets and deadlines.
- Ability to analyse, abstract, interpret and report information in clinical coding forums.
- Enthusiastic attitude and demonstrated ability to work both independently, within a team and be flexible in a changing work environment.
