Payroll Officer

**About the Role**:
This role supports the Commercial Manager who values the impact of an efficient payroll function. You will join a close-knit team that rely on teamwork & their great attitudes to get the job done. The purpose of this role will be to manage an end-to-end payroll and then support the Commercial Manager with a range of payroll accounting duties. Ideally, we would like 3 days per week, however we are open to how these hours are split throughout the week. The only non-negotiable is every second week, pay week, is to be Tuesday to Thursday to meet the payroll processing requirements.

You will be responsible for:

- End to end fortnightly payroll for circa 150 team members consisting of both salary and wages in a timely and efficient manner;
- Ensure compliance with, and correct interpretation of, relevant industrial instruments including modern awards, National Employment Standards, superannuation, statutory payments, workers compensation and tax legislation;
- Collaborate with all key stakeholders on payroll-related matters resolving payroll queries and discrepancies;
- Updating and maintenance of payroll records in accordance with legislative and statutory requirements; and
- Payroll journals and reporting.

**About You**:
This role is well suited to a more Senior Payroll Officer with end-to-end payroll exposure as a part of their role. You must be confident about managing payroll solo and must:

- Have strong demonstrated experience in payroll, at least 5 years previous experience in payroll roles is desirable;
- Knowledgeable in current payroll legislation;
- Be able to effectively deal with sensitive matters whilst maintaining confidentiality;
- Have the ability to work independently and effectively in a team;
- Intermediate to advanced Excell skills highly beneficial;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders; and
- UKG and Payroll Metrics payroll experience would be highly regarded.
