Head of Marketing, Events and Commercial

At Tennis ACT, we’re creating a more playful world through tennis - for everyone.
From grassroots to Grand Slams, tennis brings people together, inspires communities, and builds champions on and off the court.
We’re a team of imaginative and passionate people who believe in the power of sport to make a difference. If you're ready to help us serve up real impact, we’d love to hear from you.
About the role
Tennis ACT is seeking a Head of Marketing, Events and Commercial to drive the next chapter of our growth and innovation. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the creation and delivery of a bold marketing and communications strategy - one that elevates our digital presence, deepens stakeholder connections, and inspires more people across the ACT and region to pick up a racquet.
Your mission: bring energy, creativity, and commercial acumen to help Tennis ACT grow participation, strengthen partnerships, and deliver on our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead with vision: Shape and deliver Tennis ACT’s Marketing and Communications Strategy to boost participation and elevate tennis across the ACT and surrounding region.
- Oversee all communication channels - from digital and social media to traditional media and campaigns - to build a strong, engaging brand presence.
- Drive commercial success: Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy that maximises revenue, partnerships, and sponsorship opportunities.
- Champion major events: Plan, promote and deliver standout events that showcase our brand and provide exceptional experiences for players, fans, and partners alike.
- Deliver premium experiences: Oversee marketing and commercial operations for major events - including ticketing, hospitality, and sponsor activations - ensuring every partnership delivers value and impact.
- Inspire and develop your team: Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture built on open communication, feedback, and continuous learning.
About you
You’re a dynamic and strategic marketing leader who thrives on turning ideas into action and impact. You see opportunities where others see challenges — and you know how to connect people, brands, and communities through creative storytelling and smart commercial thinking.
In this role, your success will come from your ability to:
- Bring strategic clarity and creativity, backed by a postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Communications or Sports Management (desirable).
- Use your strong negotiation and communication skills to influence, inspire, and deliver outstanding outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Present with confidence - whether in one-on-one conversations or to large audiences.
- Leverage your deep understanding of sponsorships and commercial partnerships across both local and major event settings.
- Stay ahead of trends in the digital marketing landscape, with a knack for using data and digital tools to grow engagement.
- Understand the sports industry from grassroots to high performance, with a genuine passion for helping the game thrive.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
What’s to love?
- Career development with a range of formal education and on the job training opportunities
- Monthly wellbeing activities and recognition through our Serving Your Success program
- Salary packaging & a range of discounts from our sponsorship partners
