**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- Coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations of the unit, including supervision of junior medical staff, and ensuring that learning objectives are met in accordance with specialist college training requirements.
- Making critical decisions related to patient management, leading daily ward rounds, and ensuring that all patients are assessed and treated in a timely manner.
- Maintaining close communication and collaboration within the unit, particularly regarding patients requiring urgent and ongoing care.
- Thoroughly documenting patient information in the health record, reviewing patient progress regularly, and developing a discharge plan that is communicated with all relevant parties.
- Keeping up to date with medical knowledge and skills, participating in quality improvement and audit activities, and performing other duties as required by the Medical Workforce.

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne.
