**Role Description/Criteria**

The primary role of a Language Assistant is to support teachers, students and other community members to learn and use Indonesian language.

The role may include the following:

- Working with individuals or small groups of teachers to present new vocabulary.
- Modeling correct, but simplified, language use.
- Supporting teachers and students to build confidence in using the language by encouraging incidental communication outside of the designated language learning time.
- Providing feedback to students and teachers on their use of language.
- Supporting in-class learning experiences, such as working with small groups of students, and encouraging teachers with their efforts.
- Engaging in team-teaching of language and encouraging creative output of language by teachers, students and the wider community.
- Developing both physical and digital resources for use in Language learning experiences
- Considering opportunities for cross-curricular links.

The successful applicant will:
demonstrate a passion for working with children

demonstrate a capacity to work as an effective Indonesian Language Assistant

demonstrate an understanding of the work of Catholic schools and a willingness to actively contribute to a range of school activities

demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to Child Safe Catholic schools policy.
