**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Coordinator, Community Resilience, Partnerships and Social Planning, The Social Planner will support the delivery a range of social planning and capacity building initiatives.

We are looking to recruit a passionate professional with strong interpersonal skills, a strong analytical skill set and an understanding of how social change can be created. You will use your academic and professional experience to support council across the following key areas:

- To undertake social research and analysis and identify social trends and community needs;
- Provide social planning advice and recommendations to support the planning and development of the City;
- Provide advice on social infrastructure and community development in Greenfield estates and redevelopment of existing urban areas;
- To develop, collect and report on an appropriate set of social outcomes and community wellbeing measures;
- Contribute to organisation-wide strategy and planning decisions that deliver sustainable community outcomes;

**To be Successful in Your Application You will Demonstrate**:

- Qualifications in social planning, social and behavioural sciences, town planning, public policy or another relevant discipline;
- Experience in social planning, social policy, social strategy or social assessment;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to use evidence to build an argument;
- Experience within a relevant role within government or a related business.
