Receptionist

**Description**:
The Grand Hotel has overlooked Portarlington since 1888 and with an extensive renovation now complete, it’s an exciting time to join our team.

**About the Role**:
Receptionists are our guest’s first interaction with the Hotel and must ensure the guest experience is consistently a positive one.

You will be reporting to the Accommodation and Administration Manager and will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues, as well as assisting with all aspects of Front Office reception.

This is a casual position to commence with but we will have permanent part time opportunities available shortly.

**Duties include**:

- Covering the reception desk including transferring calls or recording and distributing all guest and employee messages accurately and efficiently.
- Welcome our guests on check-in and wish our guests a great day on check-out.
- Accurately and efficiently receive and process guest reservations in accordance with hotel standards.
- Respond to guest requests for assistance and or information, including explaining the facilities of the Hotel, provide tourism information and dining/entertainment recommendations.

**About you**:

- A passionate customer service advocate with experience in a similar position
- Hold a valid Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (RSA)
- The drive to anticipate and exceed guest expectations through an intuitive approach to guest services
- You're a strong valued team player who can work autonomously and as part of the Grand team
- The ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally in addition to excellent telephone manner and an eye for detail
- A quick thinker with excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to understand, be supportive, encourage and be helpful to your fellow Grand team members
- Experience with SiteMinder and protel will be highly regarded
