**Position Information**:
Nestled on the stunning shores of Lake Illawarra on the South Coast of NSW, Oak Flats High School proudly stands on the land of the Wodi Wodi people of the Dharawal Nation. With an enrolment of approximately 660 students, our school offers a unique and vibrant educational environment where diversity is celebrated and every student is known, valued and cared for. We are a truly inclusive school community. Fourteen percent of our students identify as Aboriginal, and 10% come from language backgrounds other than English, representing 18 different languages. We also provide targeted support through six classes for students on the autism spectrum and two classes for students experiencing mental health challenges. This diversity creates a rich, compassionate learning culture where empathy, respect, and connection flourish. Our 2025-2028 School Excellence Plan focuses on key areas including Aboriginal education, lifting HSC achievement, strengthening literacy and numeracy, setting high expectations for learning, and fostering belonging and aspiration. Staff play an active role in driving this vision forward, supported by meaningful professional learning and collaborative practice. As part of the Oak Flats Learning Community and the Lake Illawarra South Network, we work closely with local primary schools to ensure smooth transitions, starting in Stage 2. Our innovative approach was recognised with the Executive Director’s Award for Innovation. We are seeking passionate, reflective, and motivated educators to join our team—teachers who are committed to making a difference and helping every student thrive.
**Selection Criteria**:
1. Approval and experience to teach Engineering, Software Design and Development, Information Processes and Technology and Industrial Technology - Metal.
2. Proven ability to create and implement inclusive, engaging and rigorous lessons that will cater to the diverse needs of our students.
3. Experience in creating a safe and supportive learning environment that ensures every student has the opportunity to aspire, achieve and succeed.
4. Proven ability to be a collaborative and flexible member of the faculty, working across the diverse range of TAS curriculum.
