**About Us**
The ANU College of Asia & the Pacific (CAP) leads intellectual engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through research, teaching and contributions to public debate, and seeks to set the international standard for scholarship concerning the region. The College hosts the largest number of regional experts and specialist academic programs in the English-speaking world, and plays a vital role in informing public policy and Australia's intellectual engagement with the societies, cultures and economies of Asia and the Pacific.
The School of Culture, History and Language (CHL) is part of CAP and conducts research and teaching in Asian and Pacific humanities, social sciences and languages, and seeks to build excellence in understanding and capability in engaging with the Asia and Pacific region. The key disciplinary areas represented in the School are anthropology, archaeology and natural history, cultural studies, gender studies, history, linguistics, and languages.
Archaeology and Natural History explores deep time in the Asia Pacific region with a focus on the interaction of people with the environment. It is a unique multidisciplinary unit, integrating environmental scientists and archaeologists to uncover patterns in human behaviour, cultural development and environmental change through millennia across this vast region. ANH is also the ANU node for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Biodiversity and Heritage (CABAH).

**The Position**
Funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage, this position is based in the Archaeology and Natural History unit at ANU. The Postdoctoral/Research Fellow will work closely with Associate Professor Janelle Stevenson as well as a community of palaeoecological researchers across the Centre of Excellence on the establishment of an Australian pollen monitoring network.
The Postdoctoral/Research Fellow will dedicate 0.5 FTE of their time to projects related to the establishment of the network, while the other 0.5 FTE can be spent on a project of their choosing. The Postdoctoral/Research Fellow will be responsible for a diverse range of fieldwork and research activities including the deployment, collection and management of data related to the network.
They will work as part of a research team, liaising with a wide range of stakeholders, including school and community outreach programs, and will provide assistance with the design and implementation of research directions. They will be expected to liaise broadly with academic and professional colleagues across the School, College, wider University community and external stakeholders.
