We have an exciting Cartage Coordinator - Supply Chain Analyst (AU) role available within our Sydney office.
Key Activities/Accountabilities
- To ensure the smooth and efficient flow of freight forwarding transactions through the business in line with company policy on processing times and procedures.
- Act as a conduit between the Branches processing office with regards to Freight Forwarding operational activity Analyse customer product delivery and / or supply chain processes to identify efficiencies for the customer or recommended related changes
- Be the central point of escalation for export forwarding operational “troubles” or none conformances Ensuring all aspects of customers special instructions and / or SOPs are fulfilled.
- To ensure cross training takes place within the Freight Forwarding team in order that in the absence of any personnel, there is an alternative person to execute the required duties.
- To formulate and recommend improvement procedures/policies which are beneficial to the operational activity of the Freight Forwarding unit, ie the detection of weaknesses and relevant corrective action / improvement plan implemented etc
- To ensure all customer complaints and / or non conformances are raised and / or responded to in accordance with Geodis Australia's ISO 9001:2000 Quality system
- To encourage personnel to participate in any training schemes both internally and externally.
- To encourage the highest possible level of service within the Freight Forwarding unit, leading by personal example.
- identifying business and operating gaps and opportunities with a focus on continuous improvement
- To provide guidance, motivation and support to all staff within the business unit.
- To ensure that any opportunities for new business or extension are acted upon in consultation with the Business.
- In cooperation with Senior Management, the achievement of budget.
Skills and experience
Tertiary Qualification in Business preferred
The National Export Sea Freight Supervisor - Supply Chain Analyst (AU) shall be proficient through training and/or experience in customs clearance and/or freight forwarding methods and practices, including accounting methods and practices, within the business area, Customs law, Staff management
Customer service skills essential.
Knowledge of air and sea freight processes essential.
Experience using CargoWise essential.
Minimum 5 years’ experience industry experience - ideally accustomed to a complex and high-volume sea freight import environment and continuous improvement methodology awareness
