Dental Assistant or Trainee

**Dental Assistant Position**

A dental assistant is required 2 days a week for a dental clinic, providing traditional, general, cosmetic and implant dentistry.

**The Practice**

We are a progressive and friendly dental team who are passionate about dentistry. We are independent, not corporate linked practice. Our first priority is always to provide the best and most appropriate treatments for our patients. Our practice is located in Carnegie, Victoria, operating in a purpose renovated, light-filled and modern premises. Our workflow is fully computerized, using Exact as practice management software and digital radiography. We pride ourselves on being a stable, respectful, close-knit team. Most members of the clinical team have been working in this clinic for many years, departures are rare and only happens after private life events.

**The role and duties**
- Collaborate closely with the clinical team; assist in all aspects of sterilisation, dental assisting
- Assist with instrument sterilisation and infection control solutions
- Prepare patients & facilities for dental treatment
- Maintain stock control needed for the practice
- Assist with building patient relations
- Assist with ad-hoc administration tasks as required
- Chairside assisting encompassing all aspects of general dentistry
- Reception duties

**About you**
- Certificate III in dental assisting is preferred however on-the-job traineeship will also be considered.
- Previous experience in assisting and reception skills, EFTPOS/HICAPS.
- Knowledge of Exact Software is preferred but not essential.
- Friendly with great communication skills.
- Well presented, punctual and have a strong work ethic.
- Have an interest and committed to building a career in the healthcare and dental sector.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
