The Opportunity

Our US Land Services team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding our presence in the western US to support our US Land Department.

We are seeking a knowledgeable US Land Representative who is responsible for maintaining landowner relationships in the western US. This position supports internal customers such as Operations, Engineering, and Project Management in the acquisition of surface rights and land access agreement and maintaining landowner relations. All while reporting to the leader of US Land Services West.

What you’ll do
- Negotiate agreements and positions with landowners, including state agencies which reflect fair and equitable practices and will lead resolution of Land issues and landowner claims
- Supervise and oversee the third-party contract land personnel
- Work with knowledgeable and practice expert internal clients and affected parties such as landowners, landowner/industry associations and regulatory bodies in executing public awareness / consent programs, as well as resolve land-related issues.
- Act as an ambassador of TC Energy with external stakeholders with a focus on enhancing relationships with TC Energy landowners
- Asses and resolve landowner and land access issues
- Enhance stakeholder relationships to foster a solid foundation for the Land Advantage initiative
- Conducting project planning and project risk assessments on behalf of Land

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of combined applicable academic training, certification and related experience in the oil or natural gas pipeline industry
- Experience in land and right of way acquisition in the pipeline industry
- Experience in post construction land damages settlements
- Familiar with state and federal pipeline regulations and requirements
- Leadership skills, promoting a positive influence on the work of others through demonstration of technical expertise and effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact at all levels of the organization and across the businesses.
- Effective communication, writing and public speaking skills are essential.
- A strong team player, self-motivated individual with good interpersonal, organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and strong networking skills.
- Successful completion of Security Clearance/Criminal Check may be required.
- Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate in Business Administration, or Petroleum Land Management
- Post-secondary diploma/degree in a directly related discipline
- A combination of skills and experience
