**About the role**

The Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) Mental Health Clinical Program consists of a range of multidisciplinary teams providing recovery-focussed clinical services to consumers. These teams include inpatient and sub-acute, community and rehabilitation teams in youth, adult and older persons’ services. The Allied Health Assistant (AHA2) works as part of a multidisciplinary team and under the direction of Allied Health Professional (AHP) staff to contribute to the safe, efficient and professional operation of the AH service on the relevant Mental Health Unit or service.

Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, assists and works with mental health consumers on an individual or group basis to deliver Occupational Therapy services maximising functional outcomes for consumers.
- Monitor consumer response to intervention programs and modify, to a limited extent, interventions to meet individual consumers’ level of function.
- Support consumers’ program intervention goals at all times and ensuring client choice and participation in personal decisions.
- Providing opportunities for clients to participate in activities that support their recovery program.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Working with Children Check
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.
