**YMCA Vocational Schools** are now recruiting a** English and History** **Teacher** on a **P**ermanent, full time basis** to join our friendly and dynamic team at **Senior Logan Campus **located in **Kingston.**

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The role of a **English and History **Teacher** is to deliver academic and wellbeing programs to students, support the delivery of vocational training programs and support the Head of Campus in operation of the campus to achieve educational, wellbeing and vocational objectives.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

- Create and deliver lessons in accordance with the guidelines and parameters provided by the Head of Curriculum’s _Wellbeing Framework_
- Produce and distribute student academic and wellbeing reports prior to the conclusion of each school semester
- Collaborate constructively and positively with all school staff across both campuses, in the development and evaluation of curriculum
- Respond to the needs of students, their parent(s) and/or carer(s) and wider community to ensure the quality of service meets agreed standards

**SELECTION CRITERIA**

They will also have:

- A relevant Bachelor degree and current Queensland Teacher Registration
- Demonstrated experience as a Secondary Teacher, English and History preferred
- The ability to plan and prepare teaching and learning programs to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students who are at risk of disengaging from education, whilst ensuring the program is consistent with the relevant syllabi, curriculum policies and vocational objectives
- The ability to communicate effectively with students, including the use of appropriate interpersonal skills
- First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain them National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
