**Position Information**:
Yass Public School has 347 students this year. It is in rural NSW, and 1 hour from Canberra. There are currently 14 mainstream classes.

Teamwork and collegiality are central to our school ethos. The school has dedicated teachers who are committed to implementing evidence-based practices in literacy and numeracy.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated capacity to balance the dual roles of exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of a school leadership role.

A highly visible, approachable leader with a proven ability to connect with all stakeholders and strengthen positive partnerships across the school community.

Demonstrated capacity to lead student centred wellbeing practices and whole school processes resulting in enhanced student engagement and an inclusive school culture.

Deep understanding of the Strategic Improvement Plan with a capacity to drive the school planning and evaluation cycle. Able to use data to inform planning and prioritising future directions for our school to improve student academic outcomes and wellbeing.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
