**Job Description**:
The Design Manager is crucial to the success of any major project, and you will be responsible for the overall design delivery including having the ultimate carriage on any technical decision as well as ensuring projects are delivered within the program.

You will be an excellent leader for your design team; proactively and passionately supporting our staff to achieve outstanding results for our clients.

With an eye for the market and a collaborative personality, you will also drive a strong client-centric culture, helping to position our Canberra Civil Infrastructure team for success.

This position offers excellent career growth potential and provides an opportunity for you to play an instrumental role in the Civil Infrastructure team, to develop and mentor the next generation of our staff.

Some of your duties would include:

- Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
- Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
- Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
- Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
- Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

**Qualifications**:
As a Design Manager within our Civil Infrastructure team you will possess some of the following:

- Proven experience delivering a portfolio of significant road, and infrastructure projects within a multi-disciplinary team, ideally on Transport for NSW projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and meeting and exceeding delivery requirements.
- Experience leading and mentoring a team of professionals to deliver exceptional service
- Excellent knowledge of project management, and business management systems and procedures, and financial systems
- Strong client engagement and business development experience would be advantageous.
