Reporting to the Manager Strategic Analysis, Synergy is currently seeking a Market Modelling Lead to advance and maintain efficient and scalable modelling processes, informing strategic management of Synergy’s supply portfolio and evaluation of market drivers for whole-of-business financial outcomes.

We’re looking for inspiring people who will be able to:

- Oversee complex quantitative and qualitative analysis of market data and dynamics to inform decision-making and enable evaluation and explanation of market outcomes.
- Lead development of the end-to-end modelling process and market assumptions that inform Synergy’s long-term supply position and trading outcomes.
- Manage a robust and repeatable process that maintains integrity of assumptions and model outputs, meets internal governance requirements and facilitates engagement with stakeholders on key insights and decisions.
- Undertake generation mix, dispatch and commercial modelling to support organisational strategic and operational decision-making aligned to the team’s purpose.
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., economics, finance, mathematics and/or statistics).
- Relevant experience in market or supply modelling applied to commercial analysis, preferably in the energy industry.
- Experience coaching a small team of analysts working with complex data sets and using quantitative techniques to solve commercial problems.
- Experience in design or development of data management processes supporting modelling capabilities in a commercial environment.
- Ability to interpret and communicate commercial implications from complex concepts and interactions effectively to stakeholders.
