MLC School is looking for an experienced **Library Technician** to cover Long Service Leave for from 17 March 2025 - 27 June 2025. The role of Library Technician is responsible for assisting the Head of Library Services in creating a library space that promotes and maintains MLC School's literacy resources whilst offering an effective functioning service for students and staff.
As the role is **Term time only**, there will be no work from 11 April 2025 - 29 April 2025.

**Who is the MLC Girl?**
**About the position**
The Library Technician works as part of the Library Team to assist in the effective delivery of library services to staff and students by helping to maintain the efficient operation of the automated library system, cataloguing and processing of new resources, and the management and maintenance of online print resources.
**Key accountabilities**:
- Maintenance of digital resources and online databases collections.
- Maintenance of Clickview or TV4Education library collection.
- Updating and maintain the integrity of the Library OPAC (AccessIT).
- Supervision of students before, during and after regular school hours.
- Assist students and staff to select appropriate reading material.
- Assist in the compilation of reading lists and bibliographies.
- Enter and maintain room bookings.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of AACR, RDA and School Thesauri.
**Selection Criteria**:
- Diploma of Library/Information services of higher qualification.
- Possess a practical knowledge of library and information services, systems, methods and procedures.
- Current first aid qualifications.
- Ability to use systems such as Clickview, TV4 Educations, or similar library operating systems.
- Dedicated focus on professional growth and development
- CPR and First Aid Certification
