**Who will you be supporting?**

A gentleman in his 50s living independently. He is a keen sports fan and Broncos supporter. Enjoys visiting cafes and meeting people in the local community as well as going on different adventures around Brisbane such as visiting the museum or art galleries which he likes to tell his family all about. He has an interest in magic and would love for someone to assist him in learning some magic tricks

**What support is required?**

Seeking two new support workers to join a long-term team. This gentleman lives with an intellectual disability and has some complex medical support needs including Type 1 diabetes. There are a number of **weekday shifts available generally 2-4hrs mornings and afternoons e.g 7am-10am and 1pm-3pm. A Saturday lunchtime shift around 11am-2pm. **And there may be occasional overnight shifts available.
- Meal prep
- Support with diabetes management
- Medication assistance including support with Insulin Pump
- Prompting for personal care
- Driving to medical appointments and shopping
- Social activities - supporting to connect with people in his local community and exploring different interests around Brisbane such as going to a pottery class.

**About you**

The client is seeking a support worker who:

- Shares similar interests, has good conversational skills and is young at heart.
- Has experience supporting people with diabetes.
- Has a positive outlook, common sense and can be encouraging when he may be having a tough day.
- Has ABN and their own public liability and professional indemnity insurance.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Driver’s licence and own vehicle.

**Job Type**: Subcontract

**Salary**: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
