**About our opportunity**

An exciting opportunity for an experienced procurement leader to be part of our Procurement team who are driving a transformation change project with a key initiative to transition Council to a strategic contracting framework.

As a Team Leader, Strategic Procurement, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver strategy, sourcing, and contract management activities for defined branches with Council. You will be responsible in building a high performing and customer focused team by overseeing the delivery of all related activities within the Building Construction Maintenance (BCM) category to ensure timely delivery of services of the team, supervision, and workforce management of staff.

You will lead and manage the category management, contract management, and supplier relationships management functions of the BCM category of spend within Council. We will look to you to build and maintain strong relationships across a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure quality service delivery and procurement outcomes are achieved.

**About you**

We are looking for someone that has extensive experience leading a team under appropriate legislative, policy and process to deliver strategy, sourcing and contract management activities specifically in BCM category.

You will hold relevant experience in developing and implementing building construction and maintenance related category plans, subsequent sourcing activities, contract management and administration and benefits realisation. Good comprehensive knowledge of local government tendering and procurement legislation and procedures would be desirable.

You will have proven negotiation skills in major and complex capital works projects and supply agreements with an ability to balance price, quality, relationship trade-offs with suppliers to achieve optimal value for money. Along with highly developed interpersonal skills and relationship management skills to communicate, lead and motivate others to achieve positive and desired outcomes.
