- Cardiac Physiologists are integral members of the cardiology team looking after patients with cardiac related disease. A Grade 1 Cardiac Physiologist is trained to use technology to help physicians diagnose heart problems, assess treatment and determine the cardiac status of patients across a range of disease processes and treatments. The first two to three years of a grade one position mainly involves training.
- A Grade 2 Cardiac Physiologist is expected to work independently within the non-invasive physiology field with specialist skills in all aspects of non-invasive physiology and the cardiac catheterisation laboratory. A Grade 2 Cardiac Physiologist should be completely competent in advanced cardiac catheterisation and participate as a member of the emergency on-call STEMI team.
