**Division Responsibilities**

The People, Communication and Parliamentary Division (PCPD) plays an essential enabling

role in the department by:

- Strengthening workforce through planning, recruitment, and mobility, strengthening

leadership, and expanding learning and development, including improving talent

management
- Ensuring a capable, contemporary department that is consistent in how we deliver

effectively on the Australian Government's agenda and meet organisational needs
- Providing professional communication advice, strategies, and services to support the

department to deliver on the Government’s commitment to improve health of all

Australians.

**Branch Responsibilities**

The New Ways of Working (NWOW) Branch is a dedicated team within the Department of

Health and Aged Care Corporate Operations Group. Our role is to support the Department’s

transition to new ways of working - adopting more modern, digital, and collaborative

approaches that support individuals and teams to do their best work.

The NWOW Program includes:

- New modern, inclusive office spaces that promote flexibility, collaboration, and the

ability to choose how we work
- A greater variety of workspaces across our office environments
- A shift to unallocated workstations and an increase in meeting and collaboration

spaces
- Improved technology to support the work of our staff, and provide improved

mobility and flexibility in where and how we work
- Changes in our workplace culture and behaviours to support our staff to do their

best work

Providing the right mix of modern workspaces, digital tools and dedicated change

management support, NWOW is tailored to the actual needs of staff so teams can

effectively interact and do their best work.

The NWOW program is one of the top four Department priorities to support our

department to deliver on our organisational vision, values and goals.

The NWOW Branch will be delivering the NWOW program across all Department of Health

and Aged Care offices through to 2028.

**Section Responsibilities**

The People and Diversity Section is responsible for:

- Delivery of Unique Requirements service offer and staff support to transition to

interim and ongoing NWOW environments***
- Transition of NWOW unique requirements support to a BAU reasonable adjustments

process to the WHS team***
- Post NWOW move-in engagement with State and Territory Offices***
- Program level engagement and advice***

**Key Responsibilities**

The Allied Health Officer will be part of a team responsible for the successful delivery of the

New Ways of Working Program (NWOW).

The position sits within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) which includes a people and diversity

lead, change manager, communication manager, project manager, co-design specialists and

allied health officer. You will report directly to the People and Diversity lead.

In an NWOW environment staff are not allocated individual workstations unless they have

been assessed as clinically requiring one. All workstations are premium ergonomic sit-stand

desks, with dual monitors and ergonomic chairs. The workspaces have been consciously

designed to be proactively inclusive for a range of abilities. This includes low light areas,
