**TRANSCEND CONSULTING GROUP** specializes in digital rebar detailing and buildability concepts, identifying practical and efficient solutions to clients’ needs across concrete structures in civil and structural engineering. Services include BIM technical services (modelling), buildability studies and clash reporting, digital scheduling, estimating, project management, lean assembly workflows and solutions and engineering consulting services, commercial and infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Steel Reinforcement Technician to work on high-profile building projects, with the opportunity to develop a successful long-term career.

The Steel Reinforcement Technician role is responsible for achieving Transcend Group objectives and strategies by supporting Project Engineers and Managers with ensuring brand and product integrity, financial performance and operational standards are maintained.

**The role is primarily operational where the key outcomes are to**:

- Complete end to end modelling for reinforced concrete, including integration of various design requirements for various civil works and structures.
- Prepare rebar and fabrication estimates and documentation outputs from models and where applicable, assist in coordinating the supply of product or services in accordance with customer requirements, relevant Australian Standards, and customer manufacturing capabilities.
- Ensure all work completed is within specifications and contract provisions.
- Identify anomalies / discrepancies with architect and structural drawings and seek clarification from customer prior to scheduling through RFI’s, and data analysing.
- Identify potential solutions and negotiate changes with customers which will assist in effective production of bars (i.e.: maximising stock bar, grouping of variable bars, simplified shapes).
- Utilise 3D modelling to value manage reinforcing, assisting design to maximise effective reinforcement placement and bar output.
- Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to accurately forecast customer construction projects to ensure internal resources are optimally managed to provide both high levels of customer satisfaction and maximum levels of profitability.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Minimum of 4 years of rebar detailing/ modelling experience
- BIM modelling experience - preferably using Tekla Structures

**Technical Skills**
Strong technical knowledge of the building and construction industry and construction practices - Strong ability to interpret structural & architectural drawings - Understanding of manufacturing processes and practices - Strong mathematical & numerical skills - Exposure to modelling software, detailing/ scheduling systems - Good computer skills.

Demonstrated communication, negotiation, time management and customer service skills - High degree of attention to detail & accuracy - Ability to plan & prioritise multiple projects with mínimal supervision - Decision making ability (within set parameters) - Ability to train, coach and mentor as required - Team Player.
