**Laminex is embarking on a Product Leadership journey in driving towards sustainable and profitable growth and achieving this through its newly established Research and Product Development team.**

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to Join our Ballarat team You will be responsible for monitoring the performance compliance of Laminex Product and undertaking testing to support new product and process opportunities to inform technical and feasible decisions, CARB certification, competitor product benchmarking surveillance, vendor assurance testing program and product fault claim validation.

A bonus of this role is that it includes maintenance of a comprehensive Master library of all current and future products (perfect for all the colour enthusiasts out there).

You will:

- Commit to and reinforce business safety policy to ensure a healthy and safe work environment in maintained.
- Operate within a quality system for the Technology Centre’s testing activities that meets the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, as required for NATA accreditation.
- Perform mechanical and chemical tests required by nominated Standards on all products manufactured or purchased by Laminex.
- Perform testing and reporting within the CARB Formaldehyde program.
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders to facilitate quality assurance and research.
- Standardised formal reporting of product fault claims investigation, quality assurance and validation testing.
- Carve the time out to focus on wellbeing to drive high performance.
- Take the initiative to grow and develop skills and knowledge with commitment to continuous improvement as an individual and team.

**We are seeking an individual who is hands-on and eager to learn, as a significant portion of the role can be taught with the right mindset and attitude.**

You will ideally have:

- A Science or Engineering degree with Chemistry or Materials disciplines and have knowledge of laboratory systems, process control activities, and colour measurement methodologies.
- Maintained auditable systems and certifications such as ISO 9001 and NATA and have a continuous improvement mindset to drive change.
- A team player Mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with critical thinking and logical planning skills, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of building products industry or other manufacturing environment
