Communications Technical Manager role is responsible for enabling call taking and dispatching environments to perform to the required standards and to ensure data generated from systems is interfaced with AV's data repositories in accordance with data governance requirements.
**About the role**
This is a full time, ongoing appointment, reporting to Director Communications Centres. With an ability to provide highly specialised expert advice and ensure operational communication systems function in accordance with specified performance requirements, this position is essential to:
- Acting as the primary AV contact point for planned and unplanned disruptions to operational communications systems,
- Being available after hours as and when the need arises to deal with time critical incidents,
- Ensuring operational communication systems function in accordance with specified performance requirements,
- Ensuring operational communications system faults are rectified within agreed timeframes,
- Liaising with key stakeholders to maintain and improve new and existing operational communications systems,
- Working with Communications Managers, providing effective leadership, development and technical advice.

You'd also need to demonstrate the following:
- Be accustomed to a fast-paced environment that requires forward thinking and authoritative action,
- Experience facilitating delivery and support of vendor contracted technical products and services,
- An understanding of risk management and business continuity planning in an operational communications environment,
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills to gain the acceptance and support of ideas and the cooperation of others,
- Experience as an influential manager who is focussed on the team, its positive cultural change and continual improvement.

This position is graded at **AV5** under the Ambulance Victoria (Management and Administrative Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2021.
