**About the Role**: **Simultaneous Interpreter (Mandarin-Chinese
Portuguese). **We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Interpreter to join our team.
- You will be an experienced Simultaneous Interpreter in Mandarin-Chinese
Portuguese.
- You will be experienced in delivering professional technical interpreting services of content with expertise in ICT/software and/or the mining sector including live interpreting in person, via Microsoft Teams or via Zoom business meetings to seamlessly connect you with clients or your team across regions/countries.
- You must be professionally trained or have practical experience in interpreting, and preferably hold qualifications from the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) in Australia or equivalent accreditation/qualification from your country of origin.
- You must be able to write and speak in English fluently.
- You must be well-presented for working purposes (i.e., _business attire)._
- You must possess good communication skills.
- You must be reliable and **easily contactable.**

**Location**:

- You will work remotely from home anywhere in Australia or overseas or

you will work at **GIL**’s Headquarters based in Canberra - Australia.

**Skills, experience, and responsibilities (but not limited to)**:

- If you are based in Australia, you must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- Four**+** years’ experience in simultaneous interpreting.
- A solid understanding of technology and software terminology use for business meetings in person, via Microsoft Teams or via Zoom.
- Able to deliver high-quality of technical simultaneous interpreting.
- Communicate effectively with **GIL**’s team and/or stakeholders.
- Able to work autonomously, self-manage your time, and work to deadlines.
- Have a keen ‘eye’ and ‘ear’ for detail whilst performing simultaneous interpreting.
