Branding and Packaging Designer

We are looking for an enthusiastic Branding and Packaging Designer to join our growing design team. In this role you will be creating packaging for and developing our brands' social identities and helping the Marketing team in bringing their ideas to life, while ensuring consistency of the ZURU Brand strategies.
- Attention to detail, creative flair and a diverse range of design skills is essential for this role. You will play an important part in growing our brand with your design outputs ensuring our social channels, website, and marketing materials are translating our story to our consumers.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Manage the creative process from concept to completion for the new development brand portfolio, including branding, packaging, illustrations, logo.
- Work with senior management to establish project priority, design scope, ideation of new concepts/ideas and workflow allocation.
- Conduct brainstorming sessions with creative team, maintaining strategic and creative thinking to develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Report progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution to ensure deadlines are met and work is to the highest of standards.
- Anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time and troubleshoot/implement solutions as well as provide feedback to wider creative team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including marketing, brand and new product development managers, to ensure creative is consistent with brand and commercial strategies.
- Create illustrative graphic design
- Work with the brand managers and offer guidance on direction to ensure all ongoing brand assets are best-in-class
- Understand key market trends, familiar with the ever-changing trends that influence consumer behaviour and interactions across social and digital
- Oversee packaging designs for new markets in conjunction with our NZ and China design team
- Art direct for brand and packaging photoshoots (from ideation to liaising with photographers and stylists)
- Create eye catching, on brand packaging design
- Managing packaging design team with hands-on design work.
- Create own ideas and design toy packaging design, create layout files for mock-ups and production.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Design team, Art team, Graphic design team and Project Management team.
- Other similar or related tasks that management deem appropriate from time to time.

**Requirements**:

- Higher Diploma, Bachelors, or above in Graphic / Art Design or related disciplines
- At least 5 years of experience as a Branding and Packaging Designer in an in-house environment, agency or studio
- Previous experience in the toy industry preferred
- Portfolio that demonstrates a strong aesthetic sense and examples of packaging design
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast
- paced environment
- Good communication skills
- Familiar with related graphic and modelling software.
