**The Role**
ALS is seeking Sample Preparers for our metallurgical services business in Perth WA. Successful applicants will become part of its busy metallurgy testing laboratories that strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time, and by maintaining strong relationships with its clients.

Initially, these would be casual positions with a view to permanent employment after a period of service. This role requires shift work and hours are equivalent to full time hours. The laboratory is based in Balcatta, a northern suburb of Perth. These are not FIFO mine site positions.

**The day to day**
Applicants will be based in the Balcatta laboratory, typical duties include:

- Numerical recognition, verbal and written communication skills.
- Operation of mineral sample preparation equipment (weigh scales, crushers, pulverisers, etc.)
- Routine manual tasking in a minerals processing environment.
- Collection of data for analysis

**The essentials**
- These are physically demanding positions that require applicants to be physically fit and prepared to carry out manual tasks.
- Have access to reliable transportation and be able to work day or afternoon shift as required.
- Having the ability to follow set procedures.
- Have a high attention to detail.
- Being willing to work as part of a high performance team with a focus on quality & safety
- Willing to work in a dusty and noisy environment.

Applicants with previous experience in similar laboratory or mine site roles will be highly regarded, however, training will be provided for successful applicants with no experience.
