**About the Role**
As the Coordinator Leisure at Darebin City Council, you will lead a dynamic team within the Recreation and Leisure department to deliver innovative, customer-focused leisure services that support Darebin’s diverse sports clubs and associations.
This role involves;
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver inclusive and high-quality leisure services across Darebin.
- Develop and implement policies, strategies, and programs that support sports club activation, participation, and infrastructure improvement.
- Oversee stakeholder relationships, including sports clubs, associations, and government bodies, to foster collaboration and community engagement.
- Manage budgets and capital works projects to ensure efficient and effective resource use.
- Drive continuous improvement through evaluation, planning, and customer service excellence.

**Skills & Experience**
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop teams in a customer-focused environment, including performance management and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated experience in recreation and leisure with a strong understanding of current trends and challenges with knowledge in managing capital projects.
- Strong skills in building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, sporting associations, and government bodies, while balancing competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to consult, negotiate, and resolve complex issues using analytical and creative problem-solving approaches.
