**About the Opportunity**
The Horticultural team are looking for an energetic, self-starter to join our world class team. This is a casual, seasonal role based in Gingin Western Australia. This is a dual role between field scouting and irrigation.

**About the Role**
In this role you will be responsible for day-to-day pest and disease scouting of 40ha blueberry crop (protected cropping system) in Gingin Western Australia. The role will also include some irrigation activities. It will focus on maintaining plant health and function.
- Monitor for levels of pest and disease, growth stages and general plant health
- linking scouting information
- Weekly inspection and maintenance of insect traps
- Collect and manage data related to the management of the crop
- Accurate record keeping and updating of relevant files
- Assistance in data collection from field trials as required
- Operation and maintenance of fertiliser mixing
- Operation and maintenance of irrigation control systems and irrigation lines
- Regular monitoring of plant water uses and plant health
- General support and maintenance in other departments when required
- Administration duties as required
**About You**
To be successful in this role you will:
- A strong ability to work autonomously is required for this role as you will be walking outside in the Berry blocks looking for insects.
- Be self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a team
- Be highly diligent with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and follow instruction
- Good time management skills
- Reasonable computer literacy (Excel)
- Experience in horticulture advantageous
- Driver’s license essential
