**The opportunity**

The Rehabilitation and Support Services team are essential in reducing the impact of injury and illness in the workplace. In these roles you will coordinate various stakeholders, services and activities involved in rehabilitation. You will establish innovative and creative short and long-term solutions to reduce support rehabilitation and return to work processes, developing individualised and durable return to work agreements for employees. You will also identify barriers to the return to work process and facilitate workplace specific solutions to support and promote suitable work accommodations for ill/injured employees.

Merit pools may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.

**Role responsibilities**

As an AE5 Rehabilitation Support Services Officer in ASIO, you will:

- Provide high-quality, efficient and accurate administrative support and services to stakeholders on a range of HR and WHS related functions.
- Communicate effectively, developing and maintaining productive working relationships both internally and externally.
- Undertake objective, systematic analysis and draw accurate conclusions. Proactively identify problems and works to resolve them.
- Support the Rehabilitation Support Services team and the wider WHS area with various tasks as required.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients. Manage and clarify expectations, deadlines and changing requirements whilst keeping clients informed of progress.

As an AE6 Rehabilitation and Support Services Officer in ASIO, you will:

- Liaise, engage and collaborate with managers and staff at all levels to assess, support and finalise matters relating to compensable and non-compensable injury or illness.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of tailored initiatives, tools and resources to prevent injury and support wellness and recovery in the workplace.
- Deliver sensitive and complex written material and presentations, including contributing to the development of reports, briefs and policies.
- Coordinate the return to work process of injured workers according to current workplace rehabilitation best practices guidelines.
- Communicate with injured workers, management, treating medical practitioners and other key persons involved in the workplace rehabilitation process.

- A genuine interest in supporting colleagues to access a range of services and programs aimed at improving health and wellbeing outcomes.
- Knowledge of wellbeing and rehabilitation Case Management processes, principles and legislation.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills with experience in undertaking sensitive conversations.
- The ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships and liaise with a range of stakeholders including team members, other teams, colleagues and clients.
- The ability to be responsive to changes in client and stakeholder needs and provide courteous, prompt and professional service to clients.
- The ability to research and gather data to design evidence informed interventions.
- Attention to detail and strong organisation and time management skills.
- Respect for confidentiality, privacy and sensitively when dealing with personal information.
