**Background**

**The Role**
We seek the services of a motivated junior (16 years or older) to assist with product assembly, component assembly, general factory, warehouse and related duties. This is a fantastic opportunity for a young person to start their career as part of an established Australian manufacturing success story, and learn skills that will be carried through life. Our experienced tradespeople will provide instruction and guidance in a range of disciplines.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Receiving of incoming goods and performing checks prior to put-away, learning about a wide range of electrical and mechanical components
- Assisting with electronics assembly (loading and soldering circuit boards, preparing wiring looms) using hand tools
- Assisting with electrical and mechanical assembly (assisting with building final product and components) using hand tools
- Stocktaking
- Assisting with sheetmetal fabrication, including preparation of parts
- Labelling, testing and wrapping of finished product
- Ensuring the factory is kept clean and orderly with routine cleaning duties
- Assisting with other factory-hand duties as required
- Recording of production output and timesheets

**Skills & Experience**:

- Successful completion of Year 10 as a minimum
- An interest in PC assembly or building your own computers would be highly regarded
- Good communication skills & ability to take instruction
- Good written and mathematical skills
- Reasonable proficiency with hand tools and small power tools
- Proficiency using a Windows computer terminal
- Efficient and systematic approach to work
- Well organised and neat
- Good general understanding of safe work practices in a workshop environment
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Trade schooling or equivalent would be an advantage

**Hours**

Hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Mon-Fri

Wage: Above Award wage as per Manufacturing & Assoc Industries - Unapprenticed Junior rates (starting on $15 per hour)

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
