Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital
The Orthopaedic Technician is responsible for resourcing orthopaedic equipment in liaison with the Clinical Coordinator Orthopaedics.
The role is offered on a Permanent Part Time basis, working 25 hours per week.
The Position:
- Ensure the maintenance of excellence in the delivery of patient care, through the development and provision of Orthopaedic Resources.- Constantly liaise and communicate with Surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, technical and support caregivers regarding procedures, patient positioning and related equipment.- Position patients safely whilst preserving patient dignity and maintaining safety.- Communicate effectively between medical, nursing and support staff within the perioperative environment.- Identify and acquire loan equipment and materials in liaison with the Clinical Coordinator for specific orthopaedic procedure and ensure equipment is available for orthopaedic lists prior to commencing.- Ensure that the necessary procedural equipment is obtained from medical companies at least 24 hours prior to procedure and that the equipment received is correct and accounted for and meets hospital standards.
