**Role Description/Criteria**
A wonderful opportunity has opened up at St Damian's Primary School for someone who is a highly skilled teacher with relevant qualifications to take up the role as the Literacy Intervention Teacher.
The Literacy Intervention Teacher works alongside classroom teachers in the P-2 level to identify students requiring intervention. The Literacy Intervention teacher then is responsible for working with groups of students identified with like needs using the Little Learners Love Literacy resources. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work with our highly professional and committed team of staff to support our students identified as requiring intervention in reaching benchmark. This position will commence as soon as possible and is for 2.5 days (0.5) per week (days negotiable).
The successful applicant will be able to:
- be open to ongoing learning and development
- be enthusiastic, motivated and team orientated
- understand the needs of students who require scaffolded support to reach literacy benchmark and work with relevant teachers to ensure students are supported.
- work with teachers to ensure documentation is relevant to NCCD funding requirements where necessary
- commit to the philosophy of restorative practice
- possess a sound knowledge and understanding of the current MACS initiative in Vision for Instruction and the Victorian Curriculum
- demonstrate a willingness to support our Catholic school vision
**Special Requirements**
**Applicants must have**:
- current VIT Registration
- a commitment to the ethos of Catholic education.
- Recent experience as a Literacy Intervention teacher would be an advantage but not a requirement
