**VCAT**

The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) is a justice service that resolves a wide range of disputes for the Victorian community, including renting, planning, and consumer disputes. VCAT is committed to delivering an accessible service for all Victorians and is transforming our digital products and services to make it faster, easier, and more convenient for people to come to the tribunal.

VCAT has embarked on a service transformation focused on delivering enhanced digital service, providing easier access to services, delveoping stronger connectons with service partners through technology integrations and digital workflows and building an empowered and capable workforce who are receptive and ready for change.

**About the Role**

The Human Rights Division at VCAT hears cases under the _Guardianship and Administration Act _2019, _Medical Treatment Planning and Decisions Act _2016, _Powers of Attorney Act _2014, _Equal Opportunity Act _2010, _Health Records Act _2001, _Privacy and Data Protection Act _2014, _Disability Act _2006, _Mental Health Act _2014 and other relevant legislation. The successful applicant will be required to work onsite in Melbourne CBD and have an opportunity to make a genuine contribution by delivering effective and efficient guardianship and human rights services to the community of Victoria.

The Case Officer has a critical role in supporting VCAT's case maagement process by ensuring matters are jurisdictionally sound, procedurally complete, and ready for hearing.

The role requires you to conduct jurisdiction checks, prepare case administration and ensure all necessary documentation and procedural steps are completed efficiently. By ensuring matters are properly prepared, the Case Officer contributes to reducing inefficiencies and delays in hearings and resolutions.

This role requires a high level of attention to detail and analytical skills with a sound knowledge and understanding of VCAT's rules and procedures to ensure effective case management. Case Officers will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Tribunal Members, legal representatives, and administrative teams to streamline case progression.

**_Note: Multiple Roles are on offer and they are all 6 month fixed term positions_**

**About You**

You will be required to demonstrate:

- knowledge of VCAT's jurisdiction, legislation, and procedural rule or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge
- strong attention to detail, analysis of material and compliance of documentation
- experience using case management systems and digital workflows to track and manage cases
- excellent written and verbal comunication skills with a wide range of stakeholders
