Sweethearts Wholesale Foods is a long-established Melbourne brand supplying premium baked products to cafés, bakeries and distributors nationwide.

We’re seeking an experienced Quality Assurance & HACCP Manager to maintain our food-safety and quality systems on a regular weekly basis and provide oversight of operational compliance at our Huntingdale facility.

This is a hands-on part-time role with regular on-site attendance and some remote flexibility. It’s ideal for a practical, detail-focused QA professional seeking consistent weekly work with the potential to expand into a full-time Quality / Operations Manager position by mutual agreement as the business grows.

About the Role
You’ll take full responsibility for maintaining the HACCP program, managing verification and audit activities, and ensuring production, supplier and warehouse compliance. The role involves both strategic oversight and practical daily checks, with increased involvement during audit preparation and verification periods.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the HACCP and food-safety management system
- Lead monthly verification program (pest control, calibration, sanitation, etc.)
- Conduct regular site audits, GMP inspections and corrective-action follow-ups
- Review and approve raw-material, packaging and finished-product specifications
- Oversee supplier approvals, documentation and traceability
- Support audit preparation and attend all external audits
- Liaise with production and warehouse teams to manage hygiene and risk controls
- Provide concise monthly reports summarising compliance status, verifications and improvement opportunities

Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing, bakery or FMCG QA roles
- Lead HACCP certification and strong working knowledge of food-safety systems
- Experience managing verification programs and audit processes
- Excellent documentation accuracy, communication and attention to detail
- Confident, practical operator able to work independently on-site
- Familiarity with bakery production processes and equipment highly regarded

Engagement & Remuneration
- 12-month part-time contract (regular weekly schedule)
- $75 per hour
- Regular weekly on-site attendance essential, with limited remote flexibility for system updates
- Growth potential to transition into a full-time Quality & Operations Manager role by mutual agreement
