**About the role**

The Operational Excellence Lead is responsible for guiding the execution of lean & waste elimination plans to exceed the business objectives for the sites. This role is fundamental in supporting & leading the implementation of the MCC Operational Excellence framework and ensuring committed to savings outcomes are achieved within site Hoshin calendars. Facilitating project work to achieve productivity improvement and waste/loss elimination will be central to this role. Success must be through the engagement of the broader team, building upon an inclusive OPEX culture where listening and fact based action will be paramount.

- Drive best practice manufacturing processes, promoting a lean culture for enhanced performance and results ensuring maximum efficiency.
- Lead all 3 sites Hoshin calendar, ensuring inclusiveness and visibility.
- Foster inclusion and engagement through lean events, providing skills and tools for the lean journey.
- Actively participate in Lean, Quality, and Workplace Safety programs.
- Analyse and drive continuous improvement through data-driven approaches.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, support DIFOT culture, and analyse departmental key metrics.
- Analyse reporting and communication of departmental key metrics related to Operational Excellence outcomes.
- Drive Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) by utilising Lean Principles to analyse systems and create action plans to improve them.
- Have a strong financial acumen to be able to delivery on financial KPI’s.
- Provide leadership, overall support, assistance, direction, and communication to management teams regarding Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Identify and implement current best practices from across the MCC group that could also have a positive impact on the site.
- Actively share Best Practices or positive lean achievements from site with the broader MCC community.
- Perform relevant duties as assigned by General Manager and Group Operational Excellence Manager.

**About you**
- Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.
- Continuous manufacturing experience with results supporting effectiveness as a change agent achieving both cultural and EBITDA improvement outcomes.
- Strong experience with Value Stream Mapping disciplines is a benefit.
- Leadership skills with a track record of engaging and motivating individuals and teams including non-direct reports.
- Experience in being a change agent leading complex transformational activities. Personal experience in leading more than 10 Kaizen events.
- Well-developed analytical, problem solving, technical troubleshooting skills, is a self-starter with exceptional communication and leadership skills.
- Superior relationship building, stakeholder engagement and self-management skills.
- Demonstrated self-motivator, a lateral thinker with demonstrated advanced emotional intelligence.
- High level of maturity and credibility to influence others and build/maintain strong internal and external relationships.
