The Department of Premier and Cabinet's Private Sector Industrial Relations branch is seeking two law and policy experts to help implement the Victorian Government's response to the _Inquiry into the Victorian On-Demand Workforce _(the Inquiry).
The Private Sector Industrial Relations branch provides expert advice and assistance on private sector industrial relations matters to government, supports government participation in the development and maintenance of the national industrial relations system and leads responses and submissions to major industrial relations reviews and inquiries.
As a Principal Legal Policy Adviser, you will lead and manage projects to develop and implement industrial relations legislation, policy, programs and initiatives, and provide expert legal advice and support to implement the Victorian Government's response to the Inquiry.
You will procure and project manage external legal services providers as necessary and develop and maintain networks and relationships with key external and government stakeholders regarding industrial relations issues and regulation.
**About you**
- expertise in providing strategic and legal advice on complex and sensitive issues, such as workplace relations law
- an excellent understanding of government, legislative and regulatory frameworks
- proven ability to provide pragmatic, concise, solutions-based legal advice
- the ability to develop and implement legal and administrative policies and systems
- proven ability to negotiate and influence others and high-level capability in building strong, productive relationships and to engage stakeholders
- highly developed communication and oral presentation skills.
A legal qualification, along with knowledge and experience in workplace and industrial relations, would be highly regarded.
Both roles are fixed-term for 12 months.
