The First Peoples - State Relations Group is responsible for ground-breaking work in the areas of cultural rights, self-determination, treaty, and truth.
The responsibilities of the Policy, Communication and Coordination Branch include leading and facilitating a whole of government, coordinated, and focused approach on Aboriginal affairs to improve outcomes for First Peoples and supporting the Premier and the Minister for Treaty and First Peoples to deliver on cross-government responsibilities and commitments.
As the Policy Officer, you will provide analysis and expert advice to the Minister for Treaty and First Peoples, Premier, the Secretary and senior executives on policy priorities including truth and self-determination.
Assisting in policy analysis and coordination to inform the development of policy and specific projects within defined areas will be an essential requirement of this role.

- Demonstrated policy skills, including analysing and critically evaluating information and the potential implications and risks of proposed policy options
- Demonstrated influence and negotiation skills
- Sound analytical and conceptual skills
- Highly developed written communication skills
- Strong time management skills
