The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focussing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime. Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment
**The opportunity**
- AHP 4.1 Role earning $113,022 - $124,884 per year plus super.
- Deliver targeted psychosocial and multi-systemic needs-based programs for children and young people.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement evidence-based clinical assessments enabling rehabilitative outcomes.
- Provide guidance and support to a team of behaviour support specialists, youth justice workers and staff delivering rehabilitative services.
In this role, you will deliver evidence-based clinical assessments and targeted criminogenic and non-criminogenic programs on an individual or group basis to children and young people in custody. You will also provide specialist advice to a team of behaviour support specialists, youth justice workers and our extended operations team to create best practise outcomes. This includes completing comprehensive case notes, treatment plans and risk assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders.
You will undertake research and analysis in specialist clinical portfolio areas for input into recommendations to senior staff and provide feedback to improve overall practice and responsiveness. In addition, you will lead initiatives and manage quality assurance to support implementation of child safe standards across clinical teams by providing expertise on child and adolescent development, interventions and policy.

**Qualifications Required**
- General or Provisional Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA); or
- Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW); or
- Credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses; or
- Registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
