Under general supervision, operates surface and down hole well logging equipment, rig hoist, and pressure control equipment on work locations for the purpose of recording information about sub-surface geologic formations. Functions as service expert for a range of well logging services (e.g., Memory Production Logging, DHV, Caliper etc.). Typically operates as one-person crew and performs more than one well logging service as a recognised expert. Obtains pertinent service work information from the customer and effectively utilizes information to perform a specific well logging operation. Performs pre-job calculations as required. Rigs-up and rigs-down of surface and down-hole well logging equipment including electric, nuclear, sonic, other well logging tools, and pressure control equipment (PCE). Assembles and operates surface and down hole well logging equipment at job site. Operates PCE. Supervises Service Supervisors, Service Specialists, Service Operators, and Operator Assistants at the wellsite. Maintains, cleans and performs preventative maintenance on down-hole and surface well logging equipment. Recognizes possible sales opportunities for the Company's other products and services and communicates information to Service Coordinator or appropriate Company staff. Communicates pre-job and on
- the-job progress to customer. Communicates and negotiates with customer to resolve issues concerning invoicing service irregularities. Performs pre and post job vehicle and equipment inspections and associated paperwork and/or reports. Provides guidance and training to less experienced Service Specialists, Service Supervisors and Service Operators including formalised technical training. Skills are typically acquired through successful completion of high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job and at least 2 years of experience as a Service Specialist-L&P, II. An entry presentation covering Technical and HSEQ topics is part of the qualification process. Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required. Successful completion of Well Control Accreditation Program or similar may be required (optional). Successful completion of water survival training may be required. Coordinates, directs and performs complex, hazardous and/or high profile jobs if required. Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary. The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required. Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required. Basic computer skills are required. Must be knowledgeable on HMS standards and guidelines for PSL personnel. Proactively promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness, and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations, acting as a role model to less senior personnel. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines. Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes. May act as Service Leader in their absence.
