We are seeking a HR professional to join our team as a Human Resources Consultant at our Pinjarra Alumina Refinery. This role will be based on location at the Pinjarra Refinery and will work a Monday to Friday roster.

As a HR Consultant you will be the conduit for ensuring optimum efficiency in our HR policies and processes whilst being accountable for the implementation and delivery of employee relations, behaviour mentoring and management coaching. You will also be a key driver in providing essential HR advice to the site leadership team.

Reporting to the HR Manager the key activities of the role include:

- Participation in project activities, including improving employee engagement, succession plan development, corporate projects.
- HR support and advice to line and functional leaders on areas including ethical and legislative compliance, performance management, compensation, HR systems,
- Ongoing review and implementation of Alcoa standards and processes, policy review, change management.
- Developing recommendations on policy and process improvements to maintain best practice.
- Maintain to an expert level, knowledge of current and proposed legislation and changes.
- Advise, coach, and assist senior management on employee relations matters.
- Develop and provide employee relations training to all levels of the organisation. The emphasis in this area to be placed on improving relations and developing proactive approaches to these matters.

Within Alcoa’s HR team, best practice knowledge sharing and processes is something we strive for and at times embrace that opportunity by providing our team members the chance to backfill or support other locations, which broadens their network and enables forward thinking, this would include the HR Consultant role at the Wagerup and Kwinana Refineries or our Mining locations Huntly or Willowdale.

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
- Substantial experience working within a Human Resources or Employee Relations setting.
- Exposure to working with a unionised workforce, heavy industry or the resources sector would be advantageous.
- Customer focused mentality.
