About the opportunity

The Hospital Assistant position is responsible for the meal preparation, and delivery of patient meals of the facility in accordance with prescribed guidelines, and food safety Act.- Casual position within the Hotel Services Department.- This position may entail shift work, weekend work and public holidays.- The Hospital Assistant in accordance with Department of Health and Mercy Health Service standards and requirements is responsible to ensure the facility is cleaned and maintained in accordance with prescribed routines and in line with infection control guidelines; linen distribution and collection within the facility; and waste collection.

To thrive in this role, you will have:
- Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.- Relevant experience in catering.- Understanding of hygiene and infection control.- Knowledge of food safety guidelines & completion of Food Safety Handler - Level 1.- Ability to operate in a team environment.- A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to effective patient care and management.- The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:
- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.

About you- Current Unrestricted NSW Driver’s Licence- Sound Manual Handling Practices.- You will be flexible and reliable, be adept at utilising computers, exhibit strong communication skills and be a positive enthusiastic team member.
