We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Disability Support Worker with a specialization in Autism to join our dynamic team. **Position Overview**:
As a Disability Support Worker specializing in Autism, you will be responsible for providing tailored support to a teenage client on the Autism spectrum. This role requires a compassionate and patient individual who can create a supportive and inclusive environment to help the client achieve their personal goals and foster independence.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Assist the client in daily activities, including personal care, communication, and social interaction.

2. Foster skill development and independence in areas such as daily living skills, communication, and socialization.

3. Utilize positive behaviour support strategies to address challenging behaviour’s and promote a positive living environment.

4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, and healthcare professionals.

5. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress and any incidents.

6. Work collaboratively with the client to identify and set realistic short-term and long-term goals.

7. Establish a strong rapport with the client, understanding their preferences, interests, and communication style.

8. Encourage and teach self-advocacy skills to help the client express their needs and preferences effectively.

9. Empower the client to make choices and decisions regarding their daily activities and personal preferences.

10. Provide options and support in decision-making processes to enhance independence.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $30.00 - $65.75 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift
- On call
- Overtime
- Public holidays
- Weekend availability
- Weekends only

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus
- Commission
