Data Centre Operations Manager

Responsible for ensuring the most optimum tools, processes and procedures are active in the Datacenter, enabling delivery on our Fanatical Support promise to our customers. Centrally supports all Datacenter functions with a focus to create a global organization, sharing best practice and providing a consistent and standardized service. Due to the 24X7 operations of the business, this person must be
- able to work a flexible work schedule and deal with escalations and outages out of hours.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Central point of contact between the Datacenter operations and other Business units.
- Implements an operational discipline that drives improved Datacenter performance.
- Drives automation and better resource utilization for a scalable and efficient operational model reducing operating costs.
- Centrally recruits, coaches and mentors the Datacenter operations team across all geographies to enable delivery on the key outcomes.
- Supports the Datacenter teams on their objectives by identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Standardizes the tools, processes and procedures for each Datacenter with the focus on driving more efficiency into the system.
- Conducts regular performance reviews with key Partners that support the Datacenter operations.
- Reviews service breakdowns by doing a thorough RCA and implements process improvement opportunities.
- Acts as change sponsor for all Datacenters in the Rackspace technical change board.
- Creates effective capacity planning and communication to the business units.
- Supports build out and planning of new Datacenter space to accommodate growth.
- Serves as a collaborative partner with other departments in Australia and US to deploy and optimize new service solutions to achieve operational and growth targets.
- Ensures production rate is met and makes changes in light of any problems.
- Oversees the procurement of appropriate manufacturing equipment parts for production of a specific product or group of products.
- Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.
- Global NOC team, weekly, to align processes and procedures and build a World Class Global Networking team.
- DC Manager, daily.
- Technical Change Management Board, as needed, present and obtain authorization to implement
- changes on the network infrastructure.
- Service Delivery Managers, as needed, to support the SDM in their conversations with customers.
- Contractors and Project Managers, daily, to make sure adherence to H&S and site rules is enforced during their presence on site.
**Knowledge & Experience**:
- High knowledge of Datacenter operations processes and procedures.
- High knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.
- Excellent time management, communication, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organization skills.
- Able to resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
- Ability to coach and motivate less experienced team members to achieve their goals.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Proven experience in leading operations support projects.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently provide FANATICAL support.
