
Strategic Alliance Manager, Amazon Alexa

Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree.
At least 10 years in Business Development, Sales and/or Product Management in B2B customer-facing roles in Australia.
Proven experience conceptualizing, driving and closing large strategic deals through partnerships and sales in Australia, preferably with experience in Telco.
Ability to influence and negotiate with C-suite executives on behalf of the organization.
Ability to handle ambiguity effectively and operate independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong presentation, influencing and negotiation skills;

Alexa and Amazon devices aren’t gadgets - they’re end-to-end services, backed by a vast selection of content, exclusive features, and the Amazon Cloud.
We are seeking an innovative, results-oriented, customer-centric team player to help negotiate and execute new partnerships in select verticals with a focus on Telco, Utilities and Consumer Electronics. These partnerships will enable the expansion of Alexa capabilities within products and services for the mutual benefit of customers. This individual is an important team member, accelerating growth of Amazon Device sales and Alexa services within strategic accounts.
Your responsibilities will include creating and owning key business relationships and driving the ultimate success of partner projects. You will be the “face of Amazon” with key partners and drive discussions with senior technical leaders/CxOs in those organizations. You will also be able to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges and map the intersection of partner needs and Amazon priorities.
Key job responsibilities
- Identify and engage with Telcos and Energy/Utility companies to drive strategic opportunities for Alexa
- Deliver persuasive, passionate, high impact, high quality presentations to senior decision makers
- Execute partnerships to ensure that agreed contractual terms and obligations are met in a timely manner by both sides.
- Align partner activities with internal marketing, product, legal and engineering teams.
- Prepare and give business reviews to senior management regarding progress and roadblocks.
About the team
You will be part of the Alexa Australia/NZ team which is comprised of the following teams: Business Development and Solutions Architect; Alexa Product Experience and Design; Alexa Quality; Alexa Brand and Engagement Marketing and Alexa PR and Public Policy.
You will report directly into the Leader of the BD/SA team and be responsible for forging strong and trusted relationships with the Amazon Devices sales and marketing teams.
- Experience working with emerging technologies
- Experience in, or working with large complex telco or utility companies in Australia and NZ
- Ability to influence and succeed in a multi-national or matrix organisation
- Mobile, digital content, and apps domain experience a plus.
