**Your New Career**
Surf Coast Shire Council is regarded as a leader within the waste field being one of the first in the state to introduce a 4 bin kerbside system. This is a great opportunity to join our innovative Waste team and support Council’s work to reduce waste to landfill and maximise resource recovery. You will join an experienced team of similar staff based at other council waste disposal facilities located in Torquay, Anglesea and Lorne.

**About the role**:
This role ensures that our community members are provided with guidance and assistance when they arrive at our Torquay Waste Drop Off site. By inspecting incoming loads, you will be able to offer advice on correct load separation, direct traffic on site as required, manager onsite litter and respond to general customer enquiries.

This role is part time, 17 hours per week. It will require you to be available to work each Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:55am to 12:10pm as well as being available to cover public holidays (excluding Christmas Day).

**Key Selection Criteria**
**Mandatory Qualifications and Experience**
- Demonstrated experience in the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people
- Experience in customer service
- Current Victorian driver’s licence
- A current WWCC.

**Desirable Qualifications and Experience**
- Experience in waste management/resource recovery operations
- Experience in Local Government
